Support Local Food, Craft and Community

The Homer Farmers Market was established in 2000 to aid in the development of a sustainable local agricultural community for the benefit of the greater community of the Kachemak Bay area by:

  • Being an outlet for producers of small quantities of products.
  • Providing the consumer with an opportunity to purchase excellent garden/farm fresh products.
  • Expanding economic activity.
  • Fostering consumer-producer education and relations.

What Makes Homer Farmers Market So Special?

  • Our 20-year presence in the community has made the Market an essential community resource as well as a regular stop for locals and destination for visitors.
  • The Homer Farmers Market is regularly featured in various publications, online and in print as one of the best Farmers Markets in the State and outside.
  • Our low vendor costs and booth fees support small operations and facilitate vendor diversity and sustainability.
  • We have around we had 40 Produce Vendors, 50 Craft Vendors and 20 Prepared Food Vendors.
  • We regularly average around 1000 weekly visitors.
  • We use our yearly Turkey Raffle funds for a Market scholarship and grant program that supports local community members, organizations, and school projects.
  • We were one of the first Markets to accept SNAP, and we even have a matching program to encourage buying local whole foods.
